Education

Technology built for how schools actually work.

From campus communications and access control to network security and E-Rate funding — Lighthouse delivers IT solutions designed for K-12 and higher education.

School districts and universities operate with constrained budgets, aging infrastructure, and safety requirements that don’t wait for the next fiscal year. Lighthouse works alongside education IT teams to modernize communications, secure campuses, and build networks that support learning — without disrupting operations or overwhelming limited staff.

Working challenge

Your phone and paging systems are end-of-life, your campus network wasn’t designed for the devices students and staff carry today, and your security cameras don’t cover the right areas. You need solutions that meet E-Rate requirements, pass district approval, and work within budget cycles that move slowly — but safety timelines that don’t.

We can:

  • Replace aging PBX and analog paging systems with integrated IP communications and bell systems
  • Deploy Microsoft Teams Phone with Operator Connect for classroom and administrative voice
  • Install AI-powered campus surveillance and Gatewatch access control for building security
  • Design and implement network segmentation to protect student data and meet CIPA requirements
  • Ensure E911 compliance across all campus locations and remote learning environments
  • Leverage E-Rate eligible services to maximize funding and reduce out-of-pocket costs

If you want a structured way to start, we can begin with a complimentary campus security & communications  assessment and provide a prioritized roadmap aligned to your budget cycle and E-Rate application window.

What We Deliver

Education Technology Solutions

Classroom Phones, Paging & Bell System Integration

Aging analog paging and bell systems create safety gaps and daily friction for staff. We replace end-of-life systems with integrated IP paging, bell scheduling, and classroom phone solutions — including Microsoft Teams Phone with Operator Connect — so announcements, lockdown alerts, and emergency notifications reach every room instantly. E-Rate Category 1 eligible for qualifying components.

AI Surveillance & Access Control — DeepVision™ + Gatewatch

Campus safety requires more than cameras — it requires systems that detect threats in real time, control who enters each building, and integrate with your emergency response protocols. DeepVision™ AI video analytics and Gatewatch access control work together to give administrators real-time visibility across every entrance, hallway, and common area — with instant lockdown capability from a single dashboard.

Network Segmentation & Student Data Protection — NAC Readiness Assessment

Student devices, staff systems, building automation, and guest Wi-Fi all running on the same flat network is one of the most common — and most dangerous — configurations in education environments. We design network segmentation that isolates student data, protects administrative systems, and keeps classroom technology running without putting sensitive records at risk. Our NAC Readiness Assessment identifies your current gaps and delivers a phased remediation plan aligned to FERPA and CIPA requirements.

Security is built into every layer of your IoT stack, from devices and gateways to cloud and applications. We focus on identity, encryption, monitoring, and compliance so you can scale IoT without increasing your attack surface.

E-Rate Eligible Services, E911 Compliance & CIPA-Aware Design

As an E-Rate eligible vendor, Lighthouse helps school districts and libraries maximize federal funding for broadband, voice, and network services under Category 1 and Category 2. Every project is designed with CIPA-aware network architecture and E911 compliance built in — so you meet your legal obligations without treating compliance as an afterthought. We work within your application window and procurement timeline, not against it.

Managed IT & Endpoint Support for Education Environments

Education IT teams are stretched thin — managing thousands of student and staff devices, supporting remote learning, and keeping classrooms running without a large internal team. Lighthouse provides managed endpoint support, device management, and help desk services that extend your team's capacity without adding headcount. We monitor, update, and support your environment so your staff can focus on education, not troubleshooting.

Campus Network Infrastructure & Structured Cabling

Reliable campus connectivity starts with the right physical infrastructure. We design and install structured cabling, switching, wireless access points, and fiber backbones built to handle the density of modern K-12 and higher education environments — including high-density classrooms, gymnasiums, auditoriums, and outdoor coverage areas. All installations are delivered to BICSI and TIA/EIA standards, tested, and fully documented.

Who We Serve

Solutions for Every Level of Education

K-12 School Districts

Public and private K-12 districts managing multiple campuses, aging phone systems, and campus safety requirements that span hundreds of classrooms, offices, and common areas. We work within E-Rate funding cycles and district procurement processes to modernize communications, surveillance, and network infrastructure across every campus — without disrupting the school day.

Colleges & Universities

Higher education campuses carry the complexity of small cities — diverse user populations, high-density wireless environments, research network requirements, and residence halls that need managed connectivity and access control. We design and deploy campus-wide communications, security, and network infrastructure that scales with enrollment and adapts to how each institution operates.

Charter Schools

Charter schools often operate in facilities not originally built for education — with legacy wiring, limited IT staff, and safety requirements equal to any traditional school. We right-size communications, security, and networking solutions for charter environments, moving quickly to deploy systems that meet state safety requirements and E-Rate eligibility without overbuilding for the space.

Public Libraries

Public libraries serve diverse communities with high public Wi-Fi demand, patron access management, and facility security needs across multiple branch locations. As an E-Rate eligible vendor, Lighthouse helps library systems apply available funding toward broadband, network infrastructure, and connectivity upgrades — keeping branches connected and patron data protected.

Have Questions?

Answers About Our Education Technology Services

Yes. Lighthouse is an E-Rate eligible vendor. Broadband connectivity, internal connections, and managed services for eligible schools and libraries can qualify for Category 1 and Category 2 funding. We work with your E-Rate consultant or directly help navigate the application process to maximize your funding before the commitment deadline.

Yes. We plan all installation and cutover work around the school calendar — scheduling intensive work during breaks, evenings, and weekends to minimize classroom disruption. New IP paging and bell systems run in parallel with existing systems during transition so there’s no gap in coverage during the switchover.

Under Kari’s Law and Ray Baum’s Act, school phone systems must allow direct 911 dialing without dialing a prefix, notify a central on-site location when 911 is called, and provide accurate dispatchable location data to emergency responders. We design E911 compliance into every communications deployment — including for remote staff and remote learning environments.

Segmentation separates student devices, administrative systems, building automation, and guest Wi-Fi into isolated network zones — so a compromised student device can’t reach the SIS, financial systems, or staff records. It’s one of the most effective controls for FERPA compliance and a key requirement for CIPA-compliant network design in E-Rate funded environments.

Yes. We regularly work alongside district IT staff and existing technology vendors — taking on specific scopes like paging replacement, camera deployment, or network segmentation while coordinating with the broader team. Our goal is to extend your capacity, not replace your existing relationships.

We start with a complimentary campus security & communications  assessment — reviewing your current phone system, paging infrastructure, camera coverage, and network architecture. You’ll receive a prioritized roadmap with E-Rate eligibility noted for qualifying components. If you’d like to get started before the next E-Rate window, reach out now and we’ll work backward from your application deadline.
